Ensure You Only Use BIS for Your BlackBerry Data Connection

Avoid being charged standard data cost by your mobile phone service provider. Take these simple steps:

Step 1: Check your Browser Configuration
- Open the Browser
- Open Menu and select Options
- Select browser configuration
- Make sure the browser is the internet browser

Step 2: Check Browser General Properties
- Open the Browser
- Open Menu and select Options
- Select general properties
- Make sure the the default browser is Internet Browser.

Step 3: Check the Default Browser
- On BlackBerry menu, open Options
- Select the advanced option
- Select Browser
- Make sure the default browser is Internet Browser

Step 4: Check Advance Option
- On BlackBerry menu, open Options
- Select the advanced option
- Select Browser Push
- Uncheck the Enable WAP Push
- Uncheck the Allow WAP Push Application
- Save

Step 5: Check the APN setting
- On BlackBerry menu, open Options
- Select the Device, then Advanced System Settings
- Select TCP/IP
- Fill APN setting with: blackberry.net
- Leave User and password blank
- Save

Step 6: Check the Data Roaming Option
- On BlackBerry menu, open Options
- Select Networks, then Mobile Network
- Change the While Roaming to Off or Promt
