The Jawdropping 41-Megapixel Nokia 808 PureView

41-megapixel for a phone camera might sounds crazy. But such feature is proven quite enough for Nokia 808 PureView to take the spotlight at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona. Nokia 808 deserves all the praise as the successor of its predecessor N8.

What does Nokia 808's 41-megapixel offer? The technology combines a 41-megapixel sensor with the highest performance Carl Zeiss optics to date and Nokia’s brand-new pixel binning technology, alowing the sensor to capture over 5 times more light. The expected result is that you can take pictures at more conventional, let's say 8-megapixel sizes, and they will look sharper and more detailed than other phones at the same resolution. Like N8, Nokia 808 also comes with a xenon flash, which is much brighter than LED flash. The camera section is doubtlessly IMPRESSIVE.

In the kitchen, we have 1.3GHz single-core processor and 512MB of RAM to cook everything. There's 16GB of internal user memory with support for MicroSD cards up to 32GB, HDMI-out, Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS, NFC and USB On-The-Go function.

A little disappointment here is Nokia 808 is still running a Symbian Belle. Although imbued with Feature Pack 1 enchancements, it's still somewhat an old-timer compared to current competitor's iOS or Android. But thankfully, Nokia has announced that the PureView technology is making its way to Window Phone devices.

No news from Nokia as to how much the PureView will cost nor when it will be available.
