Sony has introduced the new Xperia Sola recently. The new smartphone features a magical "foating touch", allowing web browsing without actually touching the screen. You can simply hover your finger above the screen to act as cursor, highlight your desired link, then tap to open. Sony's floating touch technology will provide an exciting new experience
The Xperia Sola has a 3.7 inch Reality Display screen with Mobile technology BRAVIA technology. It has a 1 GHz dual core processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, upgradable to Android Ice Cream Sandwich in the middle of this year.
Like the Xperia S and Xpera P, Sony also installed NFC technology on the Xperia Sola. Two NFC Xperia SmartTags will be included inside the box. By tapping the XPERIA Sola to a SmartTag, a pre-configured profile will appear on your phone. Each SmartTag can be personalized with up to 10 commands. For instance, one SmartTag can be placed in the living room to turn on WiFi and launch Google News and weather applications. And the other one can be placed in the bedroom, to activate the alarm and turn the phone into silent mode. NFC technology also allows user to enjoy connectivity with other NFC smartphones. Exchanging applications can be done easily by simply attaching the phones together.
As for entertainment function, Xperia Sola is equipped with xLOUD and 3D surround sound audio technology for music listening. There is also direct access to the Sony Entertainment Network with the pre-installed applications; Video Unlimited and Music Unlimited. But unfortunately, the service is available only in certain countries.
Sola Xperia will be available in black, white, and red body, and scheduled to arrive on the market worldwide by the second quarter of this year.
